Very cute place! Went based on reviews and was not disappointed. The barista was very nice and helpful as well! I had the blackberry latte and a bunch of pastries, and everything was very good. The place itself is hidden in a hostel, but overall very nice and worth the find!

Located inside a capsule hostel just off of U Street NW, its selling point is its location. It's around the corner from the U Street Metro station and popular U Street NW with its many restaurants, bars, and stores.

The space itself is large. There's no consistent decor or theme. It's really just a few more-bare rooms with random wall hangings, a neon light, and places to sit.

The cafe itself offers a full espresso menu. For almost $7, I ordered a medium pumpkin spice latte. It was among the worst I've ever had. It lacked any flavor and tasted more like burnt coffee.

It may have been just an off day so I'll go back and try again since I've always heard great things about Brew on U.

Delightful little neighborhood cafe! Love the friendly vibe. How pleasant it is to be greeted with welcoming smile! Dirty chai and a breakfast muffin was warm and tasty. Got to work on my stuff for a while. Will be one of my regular spots.

Little coffee shop in the lobby area of a hostel. The coffee was decent enough but a bit pricy. I think the much bigger selling point is how cute the space is, very eclectic and fun. Cool people to meet, mostly folks visiting. Also a decent spot to do some work with wifi.

I love this place! I always come in on Thursdays and Fridays to see Michael, the barista. He’s always so friendly and down to earth. He makes a delicious matcha lavender, which I definitely recommend trying. 5/5!!

Really disappointed in the service. I came in at the opening time to wait almost 30 minutes for someone to arrive. The employee said nothing, but I let them set up and figured they would speak when they were ready. Ten minutes later, someone else walked up to the counter that I was sitting at and ordered. Absolutely rude, so I went to Compass right around the corner.

This is a really nice and quaint coffee shop. The prices are reasonable with rather helpful and friendly staff. Also it can be a good quiet spot to read if you’re into that.
