They do not appreciate their volunteers at all. No recognition. They offer a lame coffee once in a while but who wants to take off from work to get coffee? A picnic where you have to bring your own food? Sheesh.
The meals are essentially small tv dinners and although the follow the glorious “food pyramid” and “diabetic friendly” they are full of carbs and processed foods with little protein which is what seniors truly need. They frequently change the routes and this upsets the clientele because they get used to the volunteers. I volunteered for years and I just got fed up.

In response to your reply, there’s no need to spend money on volunteers, just a shout out in the email or social media would be nice.
Your dietitian should be fired. Seriously.
I understand that clientele changes and grows, but give people a heads up at least. The clients get attached sometimes. It’s heartbreaking.
