The minimum bids in their online auctions are astronomical (basically full market value)… If you are a dealer or precious metals investor it literally leaves NO room to make a profit after factoring their high fees and taxes.

Leonard Auction has been severely blessed by having an employee like Vicki West. Couldn’t believe the return that I got from my parents estate. Vicki was completely transparent from start to finish. I'm incredibly disappointed with this business. I brought my family heirlooms to be evaluated and I feel like I was rushed through the process. I was given vague ranges of what they might be worth, although they seemed to talk up how much they 'possibly' could be worth. They made me feel like they had my best interests in mind and I trusted them. Their commission is high at 30% in the contract but after hearing how much they though they could bring in and how they were "so connected" to many online auctions I didn't really think it was an issue. I just received my check and I ended up paying 40% in commission. I believe some of my items were auctioned well under what they were worth. I had 2 paintings that sold for only $125 and since their minimum commission is $100 per piece I netted $25. I would have rather given them to Goodwill and have had someone find a "treasure". If you just want to "dump" your treasures somewhere and don't care what you end up getting then this is your place. Otherwise, seek out another place who really cares as much about your belongings as you do.
