Last week I had the opportunity to attend a workshop for Assisted Living Managers at Saint Dominic’s campus. I also attended a UT Health certification program in geriatrics for healthcare professionals also offered at Saint Dominic’s. Professionally I have worked with the social services and nursing professionals at Saint Dominic’s skilled nursing home.

I am always impressed by the professionalism and positive attitude that Saint Dominic’s staff has!

For this last event all participants were wowed by Saint Dominic’s culinary team! A special shout out to Chef Nicole for noticing that I was a vegetarian. Although the spread served looked fantastic as it was, Nicole went the extra mile to make sure I had more vegetarian options.

I recently attended a training at St. Dominic Village in Houston and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home. The meals provided were delicious and well-prepared, highlighting the attention to detail that St. Dominic Village puts into every aspect of their service.

The campus itself is beautiful, with well-maintained facilities that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. This setting made it an ideal place for learning and personal development. Additionally, the trainers were very knowledgeable and engaging, effectively communicating complex topics in an understandable and relatable manner. Their ability to connect with participants and stimulate meaningful discussions was particularly noteworthy.

Overall, my time at St. Dominic Village was a very positive experience. The combination of a great environment, excellent staff, and effective training programs really stood out. I look forward to the opportunity to return and would highly recommend their facilities and programs to others looking for high-quality educational experiences in a supportive community setting.

My mom was a resident here and her experience along with mine was a great experience. Like any place there always room for improvement. But all the staff was nice and respectful. The nursing staff was delightful, knowledgeable and very considerate especially the licensed nurses. I dare not forget to mention the Cna's they were excellent as well. My mom was worried about how her stay would be, but they made my mom feel safe and comfortable. I would recommend them to anyone.

My Family and i are very pleased with the care service. St.Dominic rehabilitation and nursing center. Provide excellent care of my husband work with our family giving us support understanding his needs and I needs as well. Always been professional and concerned. My husband and I were able to stay in this lovely facility during medical visits to MD Anderson. Everything is so clean, updated, and comforting. We felt very safe on the grounds and the location was really convenient to the medical district. The meals were very good too. This was such a wonderful and affordable option for us. My Dad needed rehab after being in the VA hospital for three weeks. St Dominic's was approved by the VA so this is where he went. We have had bad experiences in the past at other facilities and St Dominic's provided wonderful services from the nurses care to the physical therapist's and even the food they served was good. My Dad could not have been in better hands. Thank you St. Dominic's!

I went to St. Dominic for a class presented by TALA. The community was beautiful and the food was amazing. They were a great host.

UPDATED: note that the response from SD is absolute bollocks - totally inaccurate and unrepresentative of what happened, and the state of TX apparently has ZERO options to handle complaints there since it's a religious institution. For example: there was no "feeling" that food had been withheld - I have the whole thing recorded and there were 40 witnesses in the room seeing it being withheld. If this is religion, we'd all be safer being burned at a stake. Ridiculous.

ORIGINAL POST: Run far. This place openly acknowledges it does not respond to emergency call cords, with a different explanation every time. Also withholds food from lodgers. And apparently have accountability exceptions to govt rules due to being part of religious community - I saw it firsthand and was denied complainant status when I tried to report to authorities. Roaches, ants, pesticide spray instead of safe gel, NO phones to front desk in room or on any floor common area, purported but not actual wifi/cell signal. SUPER DANGEROUS. This includes the residential and temp medical housing "Angel House" rooms.
