I have been using Seniors Helping Seniors for years now to help care for my wife, who has Alzheimer's. I've found that the caregivers are not only compassionate and competent, but they have become virtual members of the family. In fact, I could not have kept my wife at home without the assistance of this fine organization. Their presence allows me to do the necessary things like meet doctor's appointments or shop for groceries, and I always feel safe with one of their people with my wife. Seniors Helping Seniors of Raleigh was hired by my sister in August 2023. Dee the administrator and Marian, her care giver, were professional, empathetic, communicative and helpful to her and to me above and beyond the call of duty. Simply put, they did whatever it took to take care of my sister on the ground and me remotely. For example, when my sister went to the hospital they took her dog to the kennel. When sadly my sister passed away they assisted in getting her personal belongings and papers to me swiftly and seamlessly. I recommend Seniors Helping Seniors wholeheartedly if you or your loved one needs assistance with tasks they can’t do themselves.

From the first minute my wife and I met Kathy, we knew that Seniors Helping Seniors was going to be the right fit for my mom when she needed in home care for her terminal cancer. My mom wanted to be at home for her final months and we wanted her to be as comfortable as possible. Kathy started by asking for a brief history of my mom’s background and was really focused on learning about her family, hobbies and passions to be able to match her with caregivers that best fit her care needs and personality. My mom loved art and was very spiritual, and the caregivers she was assigned had similar interests and hobbies. The caregivers were always punctual, empathetic and upbeat. My mom went from being depressed about her condition to looking forward to her visits with her Seniors Helping Seniors friends. No matter what level of care she needed at specific times (cooking, cleaning, companionship, personal care), Kathy and her team excelled at providing top notch service. Kathy went above and beyond with scheduling when my mom’s caregiving needs increased to where we needed 24/7 care, and the agency was always flexible with accommodating my mom’s schedule. Seniors Helping Seniors of Wake Forest will always hold a special place in my heart, and I cannot picture a more caring and compassionate organization for the services they provide. We were touched when they attended my mom’s funeral and were genuinely interested in meeting the family and learning more about the person they had spent so much time with.

I am writing to recommend the Raleigh office of Seniors Helping Seniors. For 5 years I cared for my wife who had Alzheimer's disease. For her last year and a half she went to an adult day care program, and I needed help a couple hours every Saturday and Sunday. I met with own we r, Kathy Uveges, and worked out a plan that 3 of her staff would care for my wife each weekend. Each of the caregivers provided by SHS not only kept my wife safe, but continued to engage her. They read to her, went through photo books with her, and treated her with unending respect. They did this although my wife could not speak coherently or relate to them in a meaningful way.
After my wife passed I needed someone to accompany me as I had an out patient surgical procedure. Again Kathy provided a pleasant and helpful caregiver for me.
I am pleased to say that I can recommend SHS without reservation.

I cannot say enough about my experience with Seniors Helping Seniors. My 86 year old father was having serious complications following surgery. I needed help and didn't know who to turn to. I called Kathy and she arranged for one of her caregivers (Regina) to be there in a couple of hours. She helped me get my dad to the doctor, pick up pharmacy supplies and even offered to help us pick up dinner on the way home. Regina was a lovely woman - very capable, kind and caring. I highly recommend Seniors Helping Seniors. Kathy and her staff are awesome!
