We were able to put the family together for Thanksgiving dinner it was really really nice

This was my first time here and I went to apply for the farmers market certificate. I received a phone call from Linda at the senior center yesterday inviting me to lunch while I was there. She told me there was a donation fee of $3.50 but one could give what they could. All we had was a little change we left in the car. I spent the only $2 I had last night for water. Some bossy old woman turned us away for a hot meal in front of everyone asking for $3.50 before we could get in the lunch room I never been so embarrassed in my life and I will never ask for help again if I starve to death. I just wanted a hot meal since it was time for lunch. I can and could have paid the $3.50 any other time but I couldn't today and I was humiliated for it. I'm in a wheelchair and was actually turned away for a hot meal while people that obviously had more than me got something to eat. I'm home and hungry and my microwave doesn't work I hope they're proud of themselves.

This place needs to change their lunch sign from DONATIONS to just $3.50 Fee and instruct staff not to explain otherwise that a donation of whatever you can afford would be accepted. I had only $5 cash to pay for two and we were firmly informed that $3.50 ea.was the fee before i even got a chance to ask where to pay a donation. $3.50 is a generous price and i would gladly have paid it. I am just currently broke and scraping.I never begged a meal in my life, and never will. I fully intended to pay the FEE next time. Needless to say, there will be no next time and you can keep all your so called charity and your bread loafs. I will not evenuse your $50 voucher that we came for. I found this experience humiliating.

We went here the first time to have our taxes done for free. My husband is 65 and disabled, he relies on social security, myself have been out of work due to an injury, so our income is very low.
We were so grateful for this help and Kent did a wonderful job preparing them for us.
Everyone was friendly and helpful.

A great deal for cafeteria style lunch. Socializing with others shows how wonderful Bolivar citizens are. Come for lunch, stay for bingo!
