Laura helped us every step of the way; with her vast knowledge of retirement homes and services available, she provided invaluable information and guidance.

Having to look for retirement residences for loved ones can be an emotional and difficult journey but the whole process, in both cases, went extremely smoothly thanks to Laura's help.

I feel very fortunate to have had all my many questions answered today by an expert on senior living in Ottawa. Although it is a free service, there was zero pressure of any kind. I was given the chance to ask as many questions as I wanted about our loved one - their needs and capacities, the course of the disease and what prospects they had for accommodation in Ottawa in terms of costs, services, amenities and location. Laura is a lovely and well informed person, of course with experience in this sector. I have no idea where else I could have gone to get such relevant and high quality information. The company is reimbursed by the Seniors' Home should one be placed there, but there was zero pressure to commit or even move forward towards being placed. Amazing! She was really there to answer my questions, and I feel most grateful. Thanks Laura! Of course, we are moving in the direction of placement and I look forward to working with you in the future.

We were moving my aunt from Montreal to Ottawa. I met a friend who had used this service to help frind her father an apartment and she suggested I use Supporting Seniors to help with the search. I had been looking myself but it was very overwhelming as there are so many choices and such a variety of prices. I sent Laura a message and she got back to me very quickly. She was very thorough gathering wants, likes and dislikes of my aunt. Within a few days Laura came up with a list of options. Our first was the Ravines which we loved and thought would be the best match for my aunt. Any questions we had were quickly answered. From start to finish it was a very easy process using Supporting Seniors and made a very hard move much easier. I woud definitely use this service again.

Laura was beyond exceptional. She was with me step by step through the very stressful process of relocating my father to a new home. She is genuine, kind, caring and goes above and beyond. It's very evident that she loves what she does and understands the challenges that seniors face and the challenges that families face in finding the right fit for their loved ones. She made me feel like no question was a dumb question and really advocated for us.
Laura even had flowers delivered on Dad's first day which was such a thoughtful touch. HIGHLY recommend.

When starting to look for supportive senior living options for my mom we had done some research and tours on our own, but working with Laura certainly helped speed the process up. She was knowledgeable about the various residences we had seen or were interested in seeing, and helped us set up tours and navigate pricing. She offers a lot of support throughout the process, and I appreciated having a 'neutral' person to discuss issues and compare options. She gave us three recommendations for movers including a senior-specific moving company. She was really helpful and based on my experience I would recommend her services highly.

Laura is an incredibly valuable resource when it comes to all things related to senior assisted living/retirement residences. She can save clients so much time and headaches by knowing all of the retirement homes in Ottawa and what you need to know before deciding which one is right for you (which I've found includes a lot of details many people don't consider) and her services are FREE which is crazy - she is extremely ethical and compassionate. It's practically negligent to look into any type of senior assisted living without at least speaking to her first!

Laura went above and beyond to find the right retirement home for my mother that would provide the care she needed, an environment in which she would thrive socially, and fit her budget. She took a personal interest in my mother's well being. I doubt I would've gotten the same level of service from another agency. I'm glad the Dementia Society recommended her services to me.
